Just thinking..about Mumbai

My trip to Mumbai around a fortnight ago was simply great-- one that I'll remember forever. I realized why Mumbai is called " Sapno ka sheher". I had my interview at NMIMS on Monday morning. So I left Delhi by a night flight that reached there around 1. And..I was quite amazed to see the streets!! It seemed as though it was say around 9 pm in Delhi! Slight traffic- not much, people moving around..And best of all.. public transport everywhere!!AND one doesn't even have to fight with the autowalla or taxiwalla for the fare or to convince him to go to the destination.

The interview itself was a great experience. I had butterflies in my stomach when I first entered the building but then I met Varenya and had a great time talking with him- which helped ease my tension. But after he was called for his interview I looked around and was able to talk with some guys from Mumbai. (though I'm not great at starting conversations)And man! such gentlemen!!(wish I'd taken their contact nos!!) Talking with people from a different culture made me realize the new world I was stepping into.

After that..around 12.30 I had the rest of the day to me..to spend with my dad till 6.30. So off we went on a joy ride across Mumbai city!! First I saw Big B's house(right opp. the girls' hostel! great na?) and then we caught a local train to Churchgate(the other end of Mumbai).Getting on the train was one hell of an experience!I've traveled in horribly crowded DTC's but this WAS something else..I had to wrestle my way into the train compartment while one hand was held by dad( just incase I don't get left behind on the platform itself)and with the other I was trying to control my bag which seemed to get stuck between people. It took me 5 mins to push my way from the crowded entrance to the comparatively less crowded inner compartment where I could catch my breath and realize what a state I'd made of myself- My hair were pointing out from all directions and I was sweating like a pig--Ooh yes..That's one thing I forgot to say-- the weather was soo humid that I had rivers of sweat flowing down from my face and even my 2 handkerchiefs were insufficient. .
Anyways..the ride was fun! After that I went to Marine Drive,Gateway of India, the Taj, Colaba, Linkin road,Juhu chowpatty etc..

The trip was quite successful because I got through for the course..But now I've decided to stay in Delhi only..After all.."dilli jaisi koi nahin!!".(Got CS at JP)
p.s. everyone..Kindly leave a comment regarding your results

Mumbai is actually quite different from Delhi. The two cities are contrasts and I sort of prefer Delhi to Mumbai. Mumbai as a city is so alien, uninviting and strange. There are huge buildings with thousands of people residing in them and somehow I found that very unfriendly. And since I visited during monsoons ...maybe things felt even more so.

Btw people are telling me that 1626 rank in IP is not good and that I wont get through IGIT or BVP. I might get through Maharaja Agrasen Technological Institute, but I've heard that the crowd over there is very very bad. And I certainly don't wanna go to that place. Hey if anyone has any idea about it, please tell me.
