Was Jinnah Secular?

So what is the whole controversy all about? .Mr. Advani went for a peaceful visit to the 'pak' land of Pakistan to make our relationships more peaceful and blah....
It seems now that the guy going through the most un-peaceful phase of his life.

So the question that needs to be asked was Advani justified in making such a statement?
According to me he was but he made one mistake to go to public and express his views about the 'great' founder of Pakistan.
I personally hate Jinnah for the kind of person he was. As we are told by the books we read he was the one responsible for the partition of our country, but there was one more guy was in some terms responsible. The name is Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. According to the author of Freedom at midnight Nehru would do anything that Gandhi would ask him to.In this case however Jinnah was very keen for the partition. He never wanted to negotiate.
He was no doubt secular as history tells us, but he changed his ways in 1940's when he became involved with the Muslim league.

According to me the guy was secular but was also one of the main reasons for the partition.
As far as Advani is concerned the guy just let people know his feelings. This is the height of hypocrism. When actresses from Pakistan come here show there their skin onscreen then no one is worried. As soon as a politician says something people get angry god knows why.Ours is a country full of fools I guess..

Why can't people stop wasting their time on things like these and do something more constructive? There is our education system that needs improvement no one thinks about that.

Give it a thought people.....

media is constantly on a lookout for a HOT topic to increase its sales. A lot of times they end up exagerrating the incident out of proportions. Our MMS incident is one such example where everyone gave their opinions whereas even one tenth didn't know the exact details of the incident.
And regarding Jinnah being secular..He ceratinly was in the early part of his plitical career, but after 1935 when he returned after practicing law in Englan, there were lots of changes in him. His anti- Gandhi feelings were well known and hence the two nation theory was propagated by him.

My dear friend the education system is in no way related to jinnah. i am trying to say that rather having debates on issues like secular outlook of Jinnah the media should take up more important issues like education.

understand?

Now I think Varenya has a point over there. People in India and Pak both create issues out of non-issues. The Pakis about Meera and the Indians about Advani's attention seeking Jinnah statements. All he wanted was media coverage ....the BJP have been in the shadows for too long and someone just had to do something. If all this was because of any political strategy then it would have definitely lead to Advani's resignation and joining of another party. And we all know that even though sparks flew Advani did not end up resigning. I think it aws all a purposely created controversy.
